A Turned Box

These photos show some of the steps in turning a small box. This was a gift for a friend of mine. She's Chinese, so I did an Asian-inspired design. (This design is sometimes referred to as a Chinese Hat Box.)

It was turned from a branch of a pear tree that I salvaged a couple years ago. It was finished with two coats of Watco Teak Oil and a final coat of paste wax. Overall height: approximately 3-1/2".
